What we believe

Grace, Mercy and peace in our Lord, Jesus Christ.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is not only simple water. It is the water comprehended in the commands of God and connected to God’s word. We believe in infant baptism. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matt. 19:14)

Baptism works forgiveness of sins, delivers us from evil and gives us eternal life. With the decision to be baptized or have your child baptized, you voluntarily enter into a life with Jesus Christ.

When a child is baptized as an infant, we believe that the child can confirm their Christian faith when they are old enough to make such a commitment. This usually happens when the child is 13 or 14 years old. After a year of Bible classes with one of our Ministers, the child will stand before God and the congregation and confess their Christian belief.

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who lived and died for the sins of this world. We believe that he rose again, and is now seated at the right hand of God, from where he shall return. We believe that only through accepting and believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, can we receive absolution for our sins, and eternal life with God. We believe that God sent the Holy Spirit to guide us in our walk with Him, and His presence is with us.
